ROV Operator
An ROV technician has limited number of bulkhead penetrations to provide power to instruments. Unable to requisition a branching harness in the field – they can confidently break into an existing cable.

Dive Technician
A custom helmet camera cable was required. The mould was able to produce an appropriately sized splice joint to fit within the limited operating space around the other umbilicals. This would not have been possible using a disposible underground cable splice kit.

The kit will provide the tools required to create waterproof splices between chloroprene rubber-sheathed cables. The kit is designed to meet the requirements of jointing “microcircular” style connectors such as Macartney Subconn and Teledyne Impulse.
The subsea cable mould can be used with room temperature vulcanising polyurethane which allows the operators to use the kit in the lab, field, or offshore without the need for returning cables to the factory - saving downtime and cost.
